FHS GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS


The requirements for graduation from high school include earning twenty units of credit in grades nine through twelve as identified below.  No student, however, shall be required to remain in school for any specific number of semesters or other terms if the student completes the required curriculum according to the early graduation policy.

All required core courses are 1.0 credit unless otherwise noted. Students must receive instruction in economics and financial literacy and complete at least two semesters in fine arts (grades 7-12) 


Any student who completes 2 seasons of athletics, marching band or cheerleading may trade Physical Education for another 0.5 credit course.  See Physical Education Waiver Application on the last page of this book.


All students must receive instruction in economics and financial literacy during Grades 9-12, which is included in the social studies curriculum and taught implicitly in the Economics and Personal Finance courses.  Students must also complete at least 2 semesters of fine arts, taken any time, in Grades 9-12. Students following a career-technical pathway, are exempted from the fine arts requirement. In addition to the above credit requirements, all other State requirements for graduation must be met, including state mandated testing.
